Fatima Moien

Fatima Moien, Editor-in-Chief

Fatima Moien is a senior expected to graduate in May 2022. During her time at John Jay, Moien worked as a Team Leader for the ¡Adelante! Latinx Leadership program at the Student Academic Success Program, was a Justice Capital Initiative fellow and is one of five John Jay ARF WIDE Scholars. Currently, she majors in Criminal Justice with a minor in Digital Media & Journalism.

Before becoming Editor-in-Chief, Moien worked as the Web Editor. She hopes her legacy as a student-journalist inspires the next wave of writers to go beyond a story in print.

After John Jay, Moien is set to attend Hofstra University’s The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication in the Master of Arts program in Journalism.

Favorite Story Published and why?
‘CUNY Gatekeeps its Palestinian Students,’ by James Van Bramer & Fatima Moien.
My multimedia debut was exhilarating to produce and publish. It added to the story and brought the words to life.
