“But for the Love of English” is a video that was filmed, edited and produced by Jennay Duke (English Major, 2025) to satisfy the final project for Digital Video Production (ENG 260) taught by Professor Ashley Velez. Jennay highlights the beauty and importance of pursuing a career in English with this short documentary style video. The video is a passion project that aims to highlight the importance of the English community at John Jay—a school that is known for criminal justice. The authentic and informative interviews of both English Professors and English majors at John Jay debunks societal stereotypes of pursuing an English degree or career.
